A new opportunity for talented young cricketers who want to keep developing after U14 – without being on the Glamorgan pathway.

Cricket Wales may have stopped offering a pathway above U14, but we believe the journey doesn’t end there.
Wicket 2 Wicket Next Gen Academy U16s is designed for boys who want to continue playing competitive cricket above that of grassroots and improving their skills

  • Age Group: Under 16 (includes u15 & u16)

  • Eligibility: Open to all players not currently on the Glamorgan pathway

  • Season: Matches scheduled outside of the the exam period.

  • Focus: High-quality coaching, competitive fixtures, and player development

We will register the amount of interest and make squad selections based on information provided in the form. If are over subscribed we may have to have a trial session. If your son is selected we will call a parents meeting and discuss the next steps.

In the interest of transparency, this team will operate as a non-profit initiative.
All expenses such as pitch hire, coaches’ expenses, kit, balls, and umpires will be covered through a subscription and match fee.
Our goal is to make this opportunity accessible while ensuring quality cricket experiences and hopefully pick up a sponsor that lower the cost for all parents.
