About Wicket 2 Wicket
A dedicated indoor centre created to give cricketers across South Wales more opportunities to practise, improve and enjoy the game.
Our story
Wicket 2 Wicket began with a simple idea: cricketers in South East Wales needed a better place to train throughout the year.
Richard Jones and Ollie Mason saw the gap in local facilities and set out to create a dedicated indoor centre. The empty unit was transformed lane by lane, with new flooring, astroturf, nets and bowling machines installed during the summer of 2022.
Wicket 2 Wicket opened in September 2022. Since then, the centre has grown into a busy cricket community used by beginners, club players, pathway cricketers, coaches, teams and organisations from across the region.
The transformation
The original photographs tell the story better than any stock image could.
Underlay is rolled out as Lane 2 begins to take shape.
The astroturf arrives and the vision starts to become a cricket facility.
The bowling machines arrive ready for players to train with purpose.
The completed three-lane centre opens its doors to the community.
Inside the centre
Purpose-built practice space for individuals, groups, teams and clubs.
Focused batting practice with repeatable deliveries and different challenges.
Individual and small-group sessions shaped around each player’s needs.
Programmes, competitions and activities that bring people together through cricket.
Cricket equipment, W2W products and specialist bat services under one roof.
Nets can be drawn back to create space for events, courses and group activities.
More than a facility
Our purpose is to make quality cricket practice more accessible and to create opportunities for people to stay involved in the game.
That means supporting club cricketers, developing young players, growing women’s cricket, welcoming beginners and giving coaches a professional indoor environment in which to work.
